Bonuses (also known as casino comps) in casinos are common. Now many wonder how does a gambler receive a cash comp? Well the answer is easy. When you lose money, the casino appreciates your business and in return, they'll offer you buffets, a free hotel room and sometimes more cash to gamble. Free drinks are a given at each hotel in Vegas. That's right, when you gamble, you get FREE DRINKS! It is polite to leave a small tip ($1).
"Knowing that people are easily intimidated, the casinos have set up slot "clubs" where anyone can join. You simply insert your club card into the machine you are playing, lose a you bankroll for the visit, and you might earn enough points for a free t-shirt or buffet.
They keep you playing at one place because you want to earn points (heaven forbid you go to the casino across the street and have your luck turn good) and they know you will be more likely to put in that extra $20 or $100 because you are "earning points" (for that $15 t-shirt or buffet).
If you play heavy and use the card and they will send you offers for free room nights, shows, food, you name it depending on your level of play. But if you have a gambling budget of $1000 or more a day, ask to speak to a "casino host". Tell them of your gambling budget and habits and they can authorize a better level of comps for you.
The first visit, they will probably give you a "casino rate" (cheap room) and then refund it plus other hotel expenditures when you check out. Provided that you gave them the play they suggested.
Don't gamble just to please the host. They aren't kissing your ass for free, and it is insane to lose an extra $500 or $1000 when that would have paid for your room, food, and show. But if you are going to play at that level anyway (and are prepared to "disappoint" the host if you cut your playing time because of a bad luck streak), you might as well get treated like ""Mr. Big"!"
